Brewing

To unravel the full richness of Decaf Black Tea:

  1. Boil fresh water to 100°C.
  2. Place one teaspoon of Decaf Black Tea or one tea bag into your cup or infuser.
  3. Pour the hot water over the tea and steep for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Strain the leaves or remove the tea bag and enjoy the rich brew. Optionally, add milk, lemon, or sweetener to taste.

Cautionary Notes

Decaf black tea is safe and lower in caffeine but should be drunk in moderation.

Even complete decaffeination does not remove caffeine completely - so those very sensitive to caffeine should still be cautious.

Black tea also has tannins that in excess may cause mild stomach upset or impair iron absorption if tea is consumed with meals.

Like all teas, pregnant or breastfeeding women and anyone on prescription medication should consult their healthcare professional before using regularly.

So what is Decaffeinated Black Tea?
Decaffeinated Black Tea consists of leaves of Camellia sinensis that have had most of the caffeine removed by CO2 or water method, usually. The full, traditional black tea flavor remains with minimal caffeine content.

Is it caffeinated?
It has very trace amounts of caffeine - 1-2% of the level of a regular black tea.

Are there added flavours or sugars?
No. It is decaffeinated black tea without flavours, colours or sweeteners.

Does it get reheated?
YES - reheat gently if pre-brewed - avoid boiling. You may also enjoy it cold; refrigerate promptly and consume it within 24 hours.

How do I store it, and how long does it keep?
Lie flat, cool, dry, and away from light. Eaten within 18-24 months for best freshness & flavour.

How much is shipping?

Couriers Please Shipping is $5.95 for orders under $60 and free for all orders over $60.

Australia Post is always at cost. Orders going to Po Box or Parcel Locker address may be locked in to Australia Post.

What are your transit times?

We dispatch within 24-48 hours (sometimes much faster) and from there we'll see 1-3 days transit to most metro locations within Australia excluding WA and NT which can take a week or so.

We also offer express post which will help speed up the process, at cost with no handling fees. These are always sent as priority and packed first.

Are there any discounts available?

We're quite generous with our loyalty programs, and the best way to take advantage of them is to create an account here. Also if you subscribe to our newsletter you'll gain access to members only discounts, rewards and an initial 10% off first order.

Are your teas certified organic?

Up until recently we were certified organic but due to rising administration costs and the difficulty of maintaining certification we've put this on hold for now. Our suppliers and farms remain the same without any change but just now label things are organic, pesticide free or wildcrafted.

This also allows us to maintain our current pricing without any increases which we feel is more important at this time.
