Also known as Chaste Berry, this herb has some rather unusual and interesting properties!

During roman times, this herb was spread across the bed-sheets by husbands due to go abroad. The purpose of this? Suppression of sexual desire. During the middle ages, this herb was also called "Monks Pepper", with even the name we have this listed here as "Chaste Tea" hints at it's purpose.

Used throughout the ages primarily as a female cycle regulating herb, Chaste tea does have one positive benefit if you have counted all of the above as negatives - studies have shown that this herb can provide relief of PMS, hot flashes and mood changes by 60%.

Brewing
  1. Measure 1 teaspoon of fresh or dried Chaste Tea in a cup and set aside.
  2. Boil 250ml of purified water, fill the cup containing the Chaste Tea with the boiled water.
  3. Allow it to steep in the hot water for 10 minutes.

Taste Profile

Aroma: The scent is herbal and woody, with faint peppery and berry notes.

Taste: Dry and mildly bitter; A clean, herbal profile with subtle spice and mild astringency.

Mouthfeel: It is light to medium bodied, slightly dry and has a structured, grounded quality.

Finish: Leaves a clean, peppery finish with a soft bitterness and mild peppery warmth.

Liquor colour: From pale amber to light brown.

Lovely with: Lemon balm, chamomile, or rose. Also works well in blends with sweeter flowers.

The dried berries of the chaste tree are infused with an herbal infusion - chasteberry or vitex.

Is it caffeinated?
Nope - it's a herbal infusion and caffeine-free.

Are there added flavours or sugars?
No: This tea contains only chasteberries - no flavors or sweeteners. Always read the ingredients list!

Does it get reheated?
Yes, reheat gently if the pre-brewed. avoid boiling. Or enjoy cold. Refrigerate immediately and consume within 24 hours.

How do I store it, and how long does it keep?
Keep cool, dry, and away from light. It should be fine for up to 4 years when stored properly but best aroma and flavour will appear earlier.

How much is shipping?

Couriers Please Shipping is $5.95 for orders under $60 and free for all orders over $60.

Australia Post is always at cost. Orders going to Po Box or Parcel Locker address may be locked in to Australia Post.

What are your transit times?

We dispatch within 24-48 hours (sometimes much faster) and from there we'll see 1-3 days transit to most metro locations within Australia excluding WA and NT which can take a week or so.

We also offer express post which will help speed up the process, at cost with no handling fees. These are always sent as priority and packed first.

Are there any discounts available?

We're quite generous with our loyalty programs, and the best way to take advantage of them is to create an account here. Also if you subscribe to our newsletter you'll gain access to members only discounts, rewards and an initial 10% off first order.

Are your teas certified organic?

Up until recently we were certified organic but due to rising administration costs and the difficulty of maintaining certification we've put this on hold for now. Our suppliers and farms remain the same without any change but just now label things are organic, pesticide free or wildcrafted.

This also allows us to maintain our current pricing without any increases which we feel is more important at this time.
