Brewing

Water temperature: It is recommended to boil water and let it cool down before use to around 95-100°C (203-212°F). This is done to obtain the rich deep flavors from the tea.

Steeping time: As a general serving amount, using Liu Pao tea leaves use approximately 1-2 teaspoons/ 5-7 grams per teapot. Pour the tea and allow it to seep for about 2-3 minutes. Liu Pao tea can also be steeped for several times, pushing for in depth flavors with every additional steeping.

Enhancements: Contrary to the preferences of many Liu Pao tea is drunk plain just cause it is very complex on its own and doesn’t really need sweeteners or other flavors that enhance the drink.
