To truly savor the taste of Taiwan Honey Flavored Black Tea to its fullest potential it's crucial to prepare it just right.

Here is an easy to follow manual, for crafting the brew: 

For the taste its recommended to use water that has been boiled and then cooled slightly to about 90°C (194°F). This temperature allows for an extraction of all the flavors in the tea, without risking oversteeping it.
 
Start with about 1 teaspoon (around 1 gram or so give or take a little bit ) of tea leaves, for every 200ml of water you use in your brewer or pot.

Adjust the amount based on how strong or light you like your tea to be making it just right for your taste buds to enjoy sip after sip. 

Let the tea leaves steep for 3 to 5 minutes to achieve an delicate taste or opt for a longer steep, for a bolder and richer flavor profile.

Aroma:
Dry leaves give off a sweet, warm honeycomb, dried figs, and wildflower fragrance. The aroma develops into layers of caramelized sugar, stone fruit (especially ripe plum or peach), and a soft woody undertone with a hint of cinnamon, muscatel grape, or spiced dates when steeped. There is a complex honeyed floral fragrance reminiscent of black tea mixed with dessert wine.

Taste:
Rich, smooth & naturally sweet with no flavouring. Leafhopper insect activity on the tea leaves produces a characteristic honey note. Expect golden syrup, cooked pear, sultana, malted grains and floral high notes like orange blossom or honeysuckle. This one is more delicate and softly fruity than most heavily tannic black teas - almost no bitterness here.

Mouthfeel:
Full-bodied and plush with a velvety smooth texture covering the palate. A light juiciness keeps the liquor from becoming cloying. This light whisky is smooth in taste and weight, providing a smooth and luxurious drink from the first sip to the last one.

Finish:
It is long and lingering, with a honeyed trail that recalls dried fruit, warm wood and soft floral notes. There is a clean, lasting aftertaste of mild spice and nectar which gradually fades away, making this an ideal wine for quiet drinking or reflection.

Often called Mi Xiang Hong Cha, this is a Taiwanese black tea with honey notes. Its flavor is due to the leafhopper (Jacobiasca formosa) biting the tea leaves in summer. How much is shipping?

Couriers Please Shipping is $5.95 for orders under $60 and free for all orders over $60.

Australia Post is always at cost. Orders going to Po Box or Parcel Locker address may be locked in to Australia Post.

What are your transit times?

We dispatch within 24-48 hours (sometimes much faster) and from there we'll see 1-3 days transit to most metro locations within Australia excluding WA and NT which can take a week or so.

We also offer express post which will help speed up the process, at cost with no handling fees. These are always sent as priority and packed first.

Are your teas certified organic?

Up until recently we were certified organic but due to rising administration costs and the difficulty of maintaining certification we've put this on hold for now. Our suppliers and farms remain the same without any change but just now label things are organic, pesticide free or wildcrafted.

This also allows us to maintain our current pricing without any increases which we feel is more important at this time.
