I love this tea! Tulsi has two main variations being Rama Tulsi which has green leaves, and Krishna Tulsi which has red leaves. The one we stock here is Rama Tulsi as we feel its benefits are greater, along with the smell being amazing!

This is actually one of my favourite smells within the Tea Life range. It's almost a christmassy smell that's difficult to describe. Tulsi translates to 'the incomparable plant' and is revered in India for its healing properties.

This is not to be confused with tulsi herb, which is sometimes what we would call 'basil' here.

  1. Add around 1 1/2 teaspoons to strainer in hot water.
  2. Steep for 3 minutes with the cup covered.
  3. Milk isn't recommended with Rama Tulsi.

Blood sugar & blood pressure: may amplify the action of diabetes or other antihypertensives medicines; Monitor and get medical advice if you take these.

Blood thinning and surgery: theoretical antiplatelet effects; Use with caution and stop 1-2 weeks before surgery (unless your doctor says otherwise).

Thyroid conditions: Limited data suggest effects on thyroid hormones; Get advice if you have a thyroid disorder or take thyroid medicine.

Autoimmune or immunosuppressant therapy: Tulsi might modulate immune activity; Consult your clinician in case you have autoimmune problems or are on immunosuppressants.

Allergies: Avoid if you are allergic to plants in Lamiaceae/mint family. If any adverse reactions occur, stop using.

Taste Profile

Aroma: It is fresh, herbal and slightly clove-like with notes of sweet basil and peppery spice.

Taste: Soft and upbeat - lightly sweet, earthy, minty with a slight herbal warmth that lasts.

Mouthfeel: It is clean and soothing with a soft rounded texture.

Finish: Mild, cool, delicately floral.

Liquor Colour: Pale golden-green.

Lovely With: Pairs well with lemon/honey or other adaptogenic herbs like ashwagandha or gotu kola.

How to make Rama Tulsi Tea:
The leaves of Ocimum sanctum, also known as Holy Basil, are brewed into Rama Tulsi Tea. The green-leafed variety of Tulsi is considered good for clarity, balance and inner calm in Ayurvedic tradition.

Is it caffeinated?
But Rama Tulsi is a pure herbal infusion and contains no caffeine.

Are there added flavours or sugars?
No. It's made only from dried Rama Tulsi leaves without any additives or sweeteners.

Does it get reheated?
YES - reheat gently if pre-brewed - avoid boiling. You may also enjoy it cold; refrigerate promptly and consume it within 24 hours.

How do I store it, and how long does it keep?
Close tightly, keep cool, dry, and away from light. Best enjoyed within 18-24 months for maximum aroma and freshness.

How much is shipping?

Couriers Please Shipping is $5.95 for orders under $60 and free for all orders over $60.

Australia Post is always at cost. Orders going to Po Box or Parcel Locker address may be locked in to Australia Post.

What are your transit times?

We dispatch within 24-48 hours (sometimes much faster) and from there we'll see 1-3 days transit to most metro locations within Australia excluding WA and NT which can take a week or so.

We also offer express post which will help speed up the process, at cost with no handling fees. These are always sent as priority and packed first.

Are there any discounts available?

We're quite generous with our loyalty programs, and the best way to take advantage of them is to create an account here. Also if you subscribe to our newsletter you'll gain access to members only discounts, rewards and an initial 10% off first order.

Are your teas certified organic?

Up until recently we were certified organic but due to rising administration costs and the difficulty of maintaining certification we've put this on hold for now. Our suppliers and farms remain the same without any change but just now label things are organic, pesticide free or wildcrafted.

This also allows us to maintain our current pricing without any increases which we feel is more important at this time.
