This is the unroasted counterpart to our extremely popular Roasted Dandelion Root Tea. In regards to benefits, we'd actually choose unroasted over the roasted variety as unroasted is a little more potent in this case - but not by much. Roasted is normally chosen due to its taste and likeness to coffee.

Liver function properties are still present within the unroasted variety, along with containing a range of vitamins such as A, C, B and D.

Brewing
  1. Bring 1 quart of water to boil in a saucepan. Add 2 teaspoons of the Dandelion herbs to the saucepan, cover the pan and lower the heat.
  2. Simmer the mixture in the covered saucepan for about 1 minute.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat. Leave the dandelion herbs to steep in the covered pan for 40 minutes.
  4. Set a strainer over a teapot, and pour the infused liquid into the pot.

Alternatively, bring water to boil and steep 1 teaspoon for 2 minutes.

Taste Profile

Aroma: It is fresh, earthy, lightly woody with notes of meadow grass and root sweetness.
Taste: Mild and clean with a mild bitterness balanced by nutty and green root notes. Less robust than roasted dandelion but smoother, more delicate.
Mouthfeel: Palate: Light to medium-bodied, smooth, and slightly drying.
Finish: It is clean and vegetal with a slight earthy aftertaste that fades softly.
Liquor colour: Pale golden-brown.
Lovely with: A squeeze of lemon or nettle or burdock root makes a herbal tonic blend.

The dried, unroasted roots of the Taraxacum officinale are infused as a pure herbal infusion. Its unroasted form keeps its earthy flavor.

Is it caffeinated?
No - it is a caffeine-free herbal tea.

Are there added flavours or sugars?
No, it's made from dried dandelion root alone - no flavorings or sweeteners.

Does it get reheated?
If pre-brewed, reheat gently - avoid boiling. You can also have it cold. Refrigerate immediately and consume within 24 hours.

How do I store it, and how long does it keep?
Keep cool, dry, and away from sunlight and moisture. Consumed within 18-24 months for maximum freshness & flavour.

How much is shipping?

Couriers Please Shipping is $5.95 for orders under $60 and free for all orders over $60.

Australia Post is always at cost. Orders going to Po Box or Parcel Locker address may be locked in to Australia Post.

What are your transit times?

We dispatch within 24-48 hours (sometimes much faster) and from there we'll see 1-3 days transit to most metro locations within Australia excluding WA and NT which can take a week or so.

We also offer express post which will help speed up the process, at cost with no handling fees. These are always sent as priority and packed first.

Are there any discounts available?

We're quite generous with our loyalty programs, and the best way to take advantage of them is to create an account here. Also if you subscribe to our newsletter you'll gain access to members only discounts, rewards and an initial 10% off first order.

Are your teas certified organic?

Up until recently we were certified organic but due to rising administration costs and the difficulty of maintaining certification we've put this on hold for now. Our suppliers and farms remain the same without any change but just now label things are organic, pesticide free or wildcrafted.

This also allows us to maintain our current pricing without any increases which we feel is more important at this time.
